Job Title/Position: Vice President of Patient Care Services
Reports To: President /Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Patient Care Services leads, directs and coordinates all professional and patient care departments. Establishes a managerial climate that encourages teamwork and promotes collegial collaboration among all team members. Encourages and promotes innovation. Exercises necessary appropriate authority and accountability for the administration of all business units. Ensures quality of care and cost effective services throughout the organization. Maintains effective employee relationships. Ensures that the organization meets or exceeds quality standards and budget expectations. This position works with the CEO to develop strategic analysis for business opportunities and organizational growth as well as assessing existing operational systems for efficiencies and improvement. Respects and promotes the missions, vision and values of Visiting Nurse & Hospice Care of Santa Barbara, CA.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field from an accredited college or University preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Prior experience demonstrating effective management of a hospice program and home health agency with multiple business lines. Demonstrated effective organizational performance improvement skills, in-depth working knowledge of an integrated homecare organization and knowledgeable of laws and regulations applicable to home care and hospice operations, including Medicare Conditions of Participation and Title 22. A thorough knowledge of administration and care delivery models, with special knowledge in analyses, finance, planning, and human resource management is also required.
