This month, we are hiring a freelance writer based in or near Phoenix to write about weekend getaways and urban destinations anywhere in the Southwest.
Trazzler is a website where users meander through a world of trips—hand-picked, concise, compellingly written slices of life that pull the reader into a real experience: a hotel stay, walk, adventure, spa, restaurant, ice cream stand, pony ride... really anywhere that travel can take you. And that’s where you come in. Each Trazzler trip is dominated by a photo that sets the scene so that your writing can tell the rest of the story.
How to Apply:
Since Trazzler is quite different from other travel sites, the best way that we have found to scout out new writers is to get a sample trip. Our ideal candidate would be someone who understands what makes Trazzler tick, can easily navigate the content creation tools (and let us know when something doesn't make sense or could be better), and—most important—has a unique and personal way of traveling to share with fellow Trazzlers. Instructions:
1.
Sign up, if you haven't already.
2. Click on "Write a Trip" at the top of the page (you must be signed in).
3. Write a trip about the place you would like to cover (shoot for 65-150 words).
4. Add the tag PHXfreelance to your trip.
5. Edit your bio to let us know what your area of expertise is and all the regions, countries, and cities that you want to write about (if there are any in addition to Arizona).
Let's be up front: while you are free to submit as many sample trips as you would like, we won't be purchasing individual trips. You are free to republish anything that you submit to Trazzler or to submit previously published (copyright-friendly) material that is edited to fit Trazzler's style. We will be keeping track of all of the writers who apply and submit publishable trips to Trazzler.
We pay $250 for 10 trips (these are very short pieces—a trip should be between 65-150 words long).
