Job Label: TESS-RELOPS
For the classically trained mechanical or electrical engineer with reliability and maintenance exposure, this is your chance to blend your unique experience and help launch an industry-leading solar technology. In this highly autonomous role, you will interact with a variety of internal groups to define efficient and cost effective processes of maintaining our SunCatcher products. We are a fast-paced and rapidly growing organization where every day presents a new and exciting challenge. Grab your career by the reigns and play an integral role in bringing clean power to future generations.
Tessera Solar is an independent power company that is developing, and will build, operate and own large-scale solar power plants worldwide. And with the two largest solar farms in the world scheduled to begin construction in 2010, Tessera Solar is about to change the way people think about solar as the preeminent renewable energy source for our 21st century. Our philosophy is simple: work in partnership with public and private stakeholders to build affordable and truly sustainable power facilities that deliver economic development and clean, predictable power to communities around the world.
As our reliability and maintenance engineer, you’ll spend your initial few months at our newly established solar plant in Phoenix Arizona. However, once your ramp-up duties are complete you will be headquartered in Houston to refine and optimize your reliability and maintenance processes. Armed with solid engineering fundamentals, you will work with maintenance technicians and engineers to define root cause analysis at the component level, acquire failure data and find appropriate solutions. With your hands-on experience with Excel (or statistical software such as Mini Tab) and familiarity with CMMS systems, you will analyze rich data streams through real-time electronic gathering of our SCADA system and apply reliability analysis to your maintenance programs. Using MTBF strategies, reliability methodologies and an analytical mindset, you will draw strategic conclusions designed to optimize predictive capability, make recommendations for improving the repair cycles, and most importantly determine the overall cost and impact on the business. Embrace the opportunity to take your career to the next level and have a tremendous impact on our organizations bottom line.
