Or you might end up flying over rooftops of the surrounding suburbs. While any balloon flight is a fun experience... if you want a balloon flight you will truly remember forever... this is it! On Saturday, November 21st, the Roping The Wind Hot Air Balloon Team is planning on a flight out of Payson, Arizona. We plan to launch in Payson and fly down into the Tonto Basin (a drop of over 2,000' elevation). We will begin our flight flying over the town of Payson, nestled in the worlds largest stand of Ponderosa Pine forest. You will get awesome views of the forest to your north as well as the Mogollon Rim country. To your west, the Mazatzal Divide and to your east, the Hells Gate wilderness area and the Sierra Ancha Mountains. This is some of the most incredible topography in the state. This is the ONLY balloon flight opportunity that will provide views ranging in elevations from 7,000' (pine forests) down to 3,000' (high desert) all in one flight! Wind direction will ultimately determine which way we go. Though we anticipate flying down into the Tonto Basin. Though no matter which direction we fly from Payson, one thing is for certain... this flight will provide excellent photo-opportunities. Your flight will last from approximately 1 hour to as much as 2 hours, depending upon wind direction and availability of landing sites. We will conclude our flight with a traditional champagne toast to celebrate this incredible adventure!

This is a private flight for two. Rate is $650.00 (for 2 people). There is only ONE flight available. We will do this flight once and will not be repeated (until someday when we feel like doing it again!). This is adventure flying! Every now and then we get the itch to get away from the daily, 'same old-same old' balloon flights here in the Phoenix area to take on more challenging and much more scenic terrain. On a rare occasion (and if we have prior experience flying a given location), we will make one of these flights available to the public. Once 2 people reserve this flight, it is sold out. So don't delay and schedule your flight today!

While our local area balloon flights are for almost anyone of almost any age and physical condition... for this adventure flight we must insist that our passengers be of excellent physical condition. Weights restrictions apply and total weight of the 2 passengers should be approx 300 lbs or less. We do carry extra fuel on board for this flight and that limits how much weight in passengers can be flown. Dress code is for outdoor recreation and hiking boots. There is the potential that we may have to hike out of a remote landing spot. We have a very capable and purpose built off road chase rig that will greatly limit the possibility of landing someplace non-retrievable. While your flight will range in time from 1 hour to 2 hours, you should be prepared to be with us for about 4-5 hours total, possibly more if we have a lengthy retrieval. The ideal candidates for a balloon flight of this nature, is a couple that enjoys spending time in the great outdoors... hiking, camping, etc. and, as mentioned before, is in excellent physical condition. For this flight, you will become a part of our team!

Like any balloon flight, this is weather permitting. If canceled due to weather, Sunday will be a reschedule date. Refund of flight rate if we must cancel due to weather or you are unable to reschedule to another date.
