Hello everyone.

I am trying to get a couple of new D&D 4e groups together in the East Valley. I've received a little interest among some people I know, so I thought I'd post here and see if we can't get some more. At this point, as we're trying to create more than one group, we're looking for as many people to play characters as possible. The DM position has been filled.

The initial thinking was that we could have one Sunday afternoon group and one weeknight group, starting hopefully within the next week or two.

Some unique things about the groups we plan to run:

- We pay our DM. And before you go up in arms, let me explain. The DM gets paid to help offset the cost of all of the materials purchased. It isn't fair to him to have to purchase all the adventure materials and all the rest of the stuff we need by himself. When the adventure is complete, the DM keeps the material, both to use in the future and as a thank-you for DMing.

Further, in the past, paying the DM has proven to be extremely beneficial. It keeps the DM accountable, so the players can rely on him to provide a consistent meeting. It also keeps the players accountable, both to the DM and to each other. If you're paying for something, you usually tend to put a lot more effort into it.

Finally, it isn't expensive. The cost is only five dollars for an on-average 4-hour gaming session. And when you consider your other options for entertainment, $1.25 an hour is ridiculously inexpensive.

- We're running complete campaigns. This means that we'll count on the players to be at most, if not all, playing sessions. We want reliable people. Your characters will start at level one and continue all the way until level thirty (assuming the group continues successfully). If you aren't planning to be in it for the long haul, please still e-mail with interest and just let us know. There's a possibility we'll be doing Delve Nights as well and that would be the more pick-up type game you're looking for.

- Location. As of yet, we do not have a consistent location to play. Our DM is talking to a couple of the nearby bookstores and gaming stores. There is potential with the Arizona State University Library, too. Suggestions are welcome. Rest assured, however, that by the time the first meeting rolls around, we will have a place to play.

I think that's all the necessary information. If you have questions or are interested, please just shoot me an e-mail.

Thanks.
