Small East Mesa firm seeks an experienced, full-time secretary / receptionist to fill a responsible, independent position in two-attorney, two-secretary, non-litigating office.
NO LEGAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (we will train in law)
REQUIRES APPLICANT TO BECOME AN ARIZONA NOTARY PUBLIC (to qualify: must be an AZ resident and never have been convicted of a felony; if you cannot meet these qualifications, please do not apply)

Position details:
- Monday-Friday
- 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- semi-monthly payroll
- starting salary around $24,960 annually [$12 per hour], depending on experience
Preferred qualified candidate will have:
- about 10 years general office experience
- a professional appearance
- a friendly disposition with kind, caring attitude
- proficient typing skills (at least 55 wpm)
- a strong comfort level handling multiple phone lines while performing detailed tasks
- the ability to produce accurate computerized correspondence and spreadsheets
- an aptitude for organization
- MS Word and Excel experience (Corel WordPerfect experience a plus)
- solid work and business ethics
- the ability to work with confidential data on a highly professional level
- a stable work history and proven track record with verifiable references
- a familiarity with internet usage for research and email correspondence

Duties:
- answer four (4) incoming phone lines and transfer calls using intercom
- maintain phone log in Excel
- record phone messages on message pads and in memo form, if necessary
- schedule appointments and maintain calendar
- greet clients
- prepare office equipment for daily use and maintain office equipment
- prepare estate-planning and corporate legal documents (we will train)
- coordinate timely production of documents
- transcribe correspondence and notes using dictation equipment
- organize files and maintain order in file room
- follow up on time-sensitive matters
- open incoming mail and distribute appropriately
- calculate postage for outgoing mail and deliver to outside mailbox
- arrange for deliveries via outside courier
- prepare billings, handle cash receipts and coordinate with bookkeeper
- other miscellaneous duties, as requested
