This position maintains safe and secure Auction grounds, buildings and vehicles by guarding all Auction property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.<br>
Job Responsibilities:<br>
• Patrol auction property periodically, checking all buildings, grounds, vehicles and parking lots.  Watch for and report irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. <br>
• Examine doors, windows, fences and gates for unauthorized entry and make sure they are secure.  Inspect vehicles, equipment and machinery for tampering.<br>
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend, or expel violators if necessary. <br>
• Observe and search if necessary departing Auction personnel to guard against theft of company property.  Periodically check transported vehicles as situation warrants.<br>
• Notify police and/or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.  Permit authorized person’s to enter property.<br>
• Complete daily security report summarizing all occurrences. Record data and prepare incident reports in case of employee relations’ incidents, property damage, unusual occurrences and/or malfunctioning equipment or machinery.<br>
• Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the Auction entrance or on premises to maintain orderly traffic flow.<br>
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., scan and receive cars, ensure vehicles exiting are authorized.<br>
• May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.<br>

Qualifications:<br>
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.<br>
Experience: 6 months to 3 years work experience in the security field. <br>
Competencies/Skills: Valid Driver’s License.  Effective communication skills required. Ability to interact with customers and employees. Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills.  <br>
