My name is Bill Peters and I am starting my own non-profit audio video ministry that is aimed to help non-profit organizaions, churches, youth organizations, just about any one that is trying to raise funds, get volunteers, and present to possible sponsors and donors. I have been a youth and family minister for 5 years, I have worked for a national non-profit organization for 5 years, as well as a certified audio video production engineer with experience in advertising, tv, film, and music/radio production. You are probably thinking what is in it for him? Well, right now I am not sure except it is my calling to help people the best that I can by puting all of my experiences and talets into one. I am not asking for a fee by no means. You may need to pay for materials such as video tape or blank cds at the most. Donations are accepted but not required.

Dear Friends,

As many of you know my mom recently found out she has lung cancer. My mom does not have insurance and that was only one for the dozens of brick walls we have hit.

We had a family meeting and decided as a whole creating a 501c3 non profit was the best option. If no one else is going to take care of this problem we have to step up to the plate and make it happen. We need to raise $10K a week to ensure she gets the best treatment possible. While that might appear as an easy goal, the IRS says only 40% of the money raised can go directly to her.

We have created a website ( it is not complete) however with all of us working full time jobs it posses challenges as to when we can work on this very important project. We (brother, Sister, Sister Inlaw and I) agree this Foundation will live on forever.

If you do not have $1 to donate no worries, trust me we all understand. We want the website to end up in the top natural searches on the major search engines. The more hits on the site we can get the higher it will rank. Of course a donation and a hit on the site are preferred as that will help us reach the top of the search engines.

Here is my situation;

I am currently the SR Pastor at an established church right now. I have been in the ministry for about 10 years now starting in the out-reach ministry, then after Bible College I was elected Associate Pastor of the church then was moved up to SR Pastor a little later. I told you this just to let you know that I am not just a fly by night Pastor trying to start a Church.

Now, here is what I am sick and tired of;

I am tired of seeing churches judge people. There is too much time spend bashing people because of there lifestyles, how they look, and how they speak, and that is not the churches job. The church is supposed to be a group of people who love everyone just like Jesus did. The church leaders are supposed to preach and teach the word of God from the Holy Bible and leave the rest to our Heavenly Father.

I am also tired of churches spending so much time begging for money. I feel that if you give the congregation the word, make them feel welcome, and never look down on them they will help take care of the church after all they know that it�s God�s house and that there are expenses that have to be taken care of.

Finally;

While many churches and Christian leaders are condemning people for there sexual preferences there are more important issues to address like the people on the streets that need a home, the children that are in need of food, and the families that need help making ends meet. After all Jesus said let he that has not sinned cast the first stone, and well we have all sinned so lets leave the judging to God.

Fun Captain Volunteer Positions with TOGETHER WE PAINT

Responsible volunteers willing to lead a group and assist others make amazing captains! Captains take more of a leadership role and are usually interested in serving their community in major ways.

Our Captains play a critical role in the successful implementation of our projects, and typically find the experience extremely fun and rewarding!

Area Captains: An Area Captain is generally responsible for 3-4 sites, and acts as a liaison between the Site Captain and the TOGETHER WE PAINT organization. Area Captains are typically good communicators and problem solvers.

Site Captains: Site Captains often act as the communicators and coordinators prior to volunteer day. They attend pre-volunteer day meetings and communicate material to volunteers. They are responsible for coordinating activities and assigning tasks to ensure a job well done. Site Captains are comfortable communicating with people, and great decision makers.

Team Captains: Team Captains are high energy, organized and dedicated to helping a team of volunteers and/or individual volunteers through the paint day experience. Team Captains need to be comfortable organizing people, and good decision makers. They also receive food and beverages (minus the main lunch dish) for paint day. A truck, van, or SUV is highly recommended.

Repair Captains: Repair Captains act as the technical advisor for their respective site, providing site prep and general instructions to volunteers during paint-day festivities. Minimal experience is necessary. This position simply requires a general knowledge of what needs to get done, and the ability to direct and advise volunteers through the process. Patience and a sense of humor always come in handy!

Photo Captains: The Photo Captain captures the fun, rewarding, exciting day in photos. This includes taking photographs of the site (before/after), individual volunteer photos, and volunteer team photos at their respective site. Photo Captains are then asked to e-mail the photos to the TOGETHER WE PAINT organization.

TOGETHER WE PAINT is a non profit that provides low-income senior citizens and disadvantaged families with free exterior painting, minor lawn work and removal or trash and debris. Each Fall and Spring, hundreds of volunteers come together to brighten the lives of these families through the external beautification of their homes.

You may be eligible to be in a clinical reserach study if you suffer from the pain experienced after having shingles, also known as post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN). The purpose of this study is to see if an investigational pain drug works safely to reduce PHN pain.

You may be able to be in the study if you:

-Are at least 18 years old
-Have had a diagnosis of PHN and associated pain for at least 3 months
-Are able to stop taking other treatments for PHN while in the study

If you choose to take part in the study, you can expect 10 study visits. Your time in the study will last about 5 months. There is no cost to you for all study-related office visits, medical exams, and study medicine.

Site Captains: Site Captains often act as the communicators and coordinators prior to volunteer day. They attend pre-volunteer day meetings and communicate material to volunteers. They are responsible for coordinating activities and assigning tasks to ensure a job well done. Site Captains are comfortable communicating with people, and great decision makers.

Team Captains: Team Captains are high energy, organized and dedicated to helping a team of volunteers and/or individual volunteers through the paint day experience. Team Captains need to be comfortable organizing people, and good decision makers. They also receive food and beverages (minus the main lunch dish) for paint day. A truck, van, or SUV is highly recommended.

Repair Captains: Repair Captains act as the technical advisor for their respective site, providing site prep and general instructions to volunteers during paint-day festivities. Minimal experience is necessary. This position simply requires a general knowledge of what needs to get done, and the ability to direct and advise volunteers through the process. Patience and a sense of humor always come in handy!

Photo Captains: The Photo Captain captures the fun, rewarding, exciting day in photos. This includes taking photographs of the site (before/after), individual volunteer photos, and volunteer team photos at their respective site. Photo Captains are then asked to e-mail the photos to the HELPING HAMMERS organization.

Green Team: 10 volunteers who conduct a green clean-up at the home. The GREEN TEAM uses non-toxic cleaning products in the interior of the home; they educate the homeowner on the cost benefits of "going green," and help homeowners with minor repairs and improvements.

HELPING HAMMERS is a non-profit that provides repairs on over 40 homes of low-income seniors and families across Arizona in the Fall and Spring. Each home receives work on one big project (such as a roof or a new wheelchair ramp) and several smaller repair services using eco-friendly products from the GREEN TEAM. More than 400 volunteers help with the repairs of these homes.

The Jaeger Family: Justin 31, Krishna 32, Marissa 13, Ronin 8, and Berlin 4

They all suffer from medical conditions: Justin has chronic migraines, peptic ulcer disease, and has to be tested every 6 months for tumor re-growth. Krishna has osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease, osteoperosis, osteoarthritis & compression fractures throughout her spine. Marissa and Berlin have osteogenesis imperfecta as well. Ronin has viral induced asthma.

Justin has suffered with chronic migraines since he was four years old. Up until his brain tumor in 2005 he had them 1-3 times a month.

Krishna spent most of her childhood in and out of body casts and confined to a wheelchair. She was very determined to walk and live her life as normal as possible. She was finally able to walk with the aide of crutches when she was seventeen years old and then finally without any assistance after a year.

Marissa had her first fracture at 8 months old. She has since had at least twelve more fractures. She is as normal a 13 year old as possible. She has to deal with the occasional fracture and has to be more cautious than usual but other than that handles her disability with great maturity and a positive attitude.

Berlin had her first broken leg when she was 2 years old. She has since had 3 more broken bones but she doesn�t let that get her down.

Ronin has suffered with viral induced asthma since he was 6months old. He was misdiagnosed for the first 2 years but since he was finally diagnosed correctly and given the proper medication he has done pretty well.

Justin and Krishna met over 14 years ago and had their first child in 1994. They started off both working and got their first apartment in 1996. They were very mature for a young couple with a child starting off in the real world and handled their finances and life pretty responsibly for their ages. They worked their way up to a rental house and once they found out they were going to be adding to the family they finally moved up to their first purchase of a home. There were a few kinks in the purchase like finding out after the fact that the a/c was not the proper size for their home in fact way smaller and that the house was in a way falling apart. Because the a/c unit wasn�t the proper size it will start out costing us close to $350 a month and will end up costing us $600 a month in electricity because the unit has to work harder and isn�t as efficient. But they dealt with it the best they could until disaster struck in 2005. After giving birth to their second child Ronin in 2000 Krishna�s back didn�t hold up. She had several compression fractures and was told she had the spine of a 70 year old and that it would only get worse. She was then forced to file for disability. They suffered a major pay cut and with the medical bills as they were they were making it paycheck to paycheck. During all this time Justin moved up and up at his job and was very liked at Bank One. He has the best work ethic. Even during his migraines he still worked very hard for over 9 yrs to support his family.
They were dealing with medical bills and struggling with all the expenses of the house falling apart on us and through this financial struggle they still managed to keep their credit good and never made a late payment on their house.

The beginning of 2005 Justin�s migraines had been getting more and more frequent and more intense. The last day of the month in May 2005 Justin had gone to work that morning with the most severe migraine he had had. After working through the pain for over 15 hours he came home and Krishna took him to the emergency room. After waiting over 10 hours we found out the worst news and if we had waiting any longer Justin would have died. He had a 4cm brain tumor (hemangioblastoma) in his right cerebellum. He had emergency brain surgery three days later to remove the tumor and all along during this time we were all told that it was most likely a deadly form of cancer that would kill him if the surgery didn�t. It was the worst time of their lives. After a week in the hospital and after surviving the brain surgery they were told that it was good news that it was a benign brain tumor and that as long as he has a good recovery from the surgery that he would survive. He did however have to be checked every 6 months for the rest of his life in order to make sure that the tumor didn�t return. After a couple of weeks in the hospital he went home with a new outlook on life and a high that he survived and that he was so grateful for this life. After six days at home Justin was rushed to the hospital to again fight for his life only this time he would have an even bigger fight. He had to have more brain surgery to clean out a severe staph infection and meningitis that was a result of surgery complications. Fortunately, he survived and spent six weeks at home with IV antibiotics. He had to take a 2 month medical leave that hurt them even more financially. After two months he returned to work to support his family of five now. A year before Krishna gave birth to their youngest daughter Berlin. Month after month his migraines got more frequent and more intense. Justin pushed through this and took over the counter medications as well as prescribed pain medications for this pain. His migraines started lasting weeks at a time and it got to the point that he had tried all the migraine medications and they no longer worked for him. He would have to keep a trash can next to him at work so that he could vomit in between calls. He would have to call Krishna and keep her on the phone during his commute to work because he could only see out of one of his eyes and he was afraid of passing out or getting into an accident from his migraine symptoms. He pushed through this for months and months to support his family and then on top of everything else he got peptic ulcer disease and had two severe bought of pancreatitis which hospitalized him for two weeks each time. Krishna kept telling him that he should file for disability until the doctors could get his conditions under control but he had such a strong work ethic and didn�t want to let his family or co-workers down. Before his migraines got worse they had been talking about promoting him to manager. He pushed through and through and then one day called Krishna from his work crying because his boss had to call a meeting because he wasn�t performing like he used to and because they all were concerned about his health and that several employees had said that he looked like he was dying and that he shouldn�t work in as much pain that he was in. Justin was broken up about the thought of filing for disability. The migraines got worse and worse and lasted longer and longer finally Krishna made Justin realize that working right now was killing him and taking too much of a risk on his life and that he needed to leave work for awhile. They knew that they would be taking a huge pay decrease and that they were already struggling financially and that it would only get much worse but risking his life wasn�t worth the money. Then they found out that it would take up to a year to have a decision from social security so they had to live off of Krishna�s SSA alone which wasn�t even enough to pay their mortgage. After living at their first home for over seven years they were going to have to sell the house and move to a less expensive house in Queen Creek in order to survive financially. They started to put their house on the market Feb 2006 but they were scammed by two realtors and they wasted four months of marketing time and by the time they found a trustworthy realtor the market crashed and they lost over $100K in property value. June of 2007 they moved and trying to help out their situation and another family they rented the Mesa house for only $500 a month even though the mortgage was $1500 that was all this family could afford. After 6 months of only 1 payment they had to evict the family and found out they had been burned again trying to help someone and cut them some slack they were re-paid with several thousands of dollars of damage done to the property. During all this they had to use emergency credit cards to pay two mortgages when they couldn�t even afford one. They have over $40K in debt now and are still trying to sell the Mesa house. After a year and a half in Jan 2008 Justin was finally approved for disability. This helps but unfortunately they have so much debt and still have to sell the other house they are still negative over $1K monthly. After getting the house fixed up Krishna�s brother trying to help her and his friend had suggested renting the property out to his friend who was also in need and the $900 a month in rent could help them out as well. Still not the full mortgage but it was better than nothing. Even though they hesitated because they had already been burned by the previous tenants Jeremy had said that he trusted his friend with his life and trusting her brother Krishna decided to try again. The deal was that they would be able to keep the house on the market and it would be month to month. Well the realtor trying to sell the house had advised them that the current condition that the tenants had been keeping it in was not going to sell the house. When confronted the tenants took off and left their house in even worse condition than the previous tenant and had caused over $5K in damages. They were burned again. Justin�s condition is getting worse he has to go the hospital close to 3 times a week for pain management he has now had a migraine at different levels for close to 3 months and the doctors still haven�t been able to get them under control he is now getting a referral for the mayo clinic. They have run out of all resources to keep up their payments. So far their credit is still good and they still have never been late on their mortgages but after this month they aren�t sure if that will last.
With all this said; in addition they only have one used vehicle that�s breaking down and barely fits the entire family along with wheelchairs, crutches, and it�s a very tight space for when they have casts on. This is another huge hardship on their family and it cuts into the quality of life for everyone and only adds more stress and difficulty. It is my PASSION, MY MISSION, MY GOAL, MY DREAM to find someone in the position to donate a very safe, reliable van for their family. This will make it easier to transport everyone

Non-Profit Animal Rescue needs volunteers! (East Valley)

Most people are aware of the overpopulation of animals in Phoenix, and we want to help find homes for these animals. We do not have a physical shelter, so we need loving foster homes to temporarily save these animals from abandonment, neglect, or worse, the end of their lives at the city shelters. Both city shelters are terribly overcrowded, so wonderful animals are being put down due to lack of room. Please help us help these animals by becoming a foster home! Medical expenses are paid for by our rescue. This is a very rewarding experience and you won't regret it. Foster care and volunteer forms are available by emailing kgarcia1@cox.net

We are a non profit organization that performs home repairs for low income, elderly/disabled individuals and families at NO Cost to them. Here are ways you can help:

Home repairs - Light carpentry, Light electrical, light plumbing, roofing, landscaping, flooring, ect.

Volunteer for office work - data entry, filing, answer phones, recruit other volunteers, ect.

Volunteer for our "Ride Along" program - Riding with staff to evaluate time and materials needed for each job.

Must be DRUG FREE!!! NO criminal background!! All volunteers are subject to a background check.

Uncle Jack�s Cats, a non-profit animal rescue serving the Glendale area, houses over 40 dogs and 150 cats. The rescue works tirelessly round the clock to nurture and rehabilitate innocent victims of neglect, abandonment, and abuse. Ultimately, it is our hope to place each animal in a loving home.

Volunteers needed for a Focus Group to be held in Phoenix on July 28th from 6-7:30 PM. You will be watching a brief presentation and then commenting on your thoughts. We're looking for Males and Females between the ages of 40 and 70. This will be a small focus group limited to 12 people.
