A teacher’s background in mathematics is the single greatest predictor of student achievement.
Only 5% of Arizona students perform at Advanced levels in mathematics, according to National Assessment of Educational Progress data.
You can level the playing field.

Make their academic achievement your greatest professional achievement.
Brighten Phoenix’s future. TEACH.

The Phoenix Teaching Fellows program (http://www.PhoenixTeachingFellows.org) recruits talented individuals from diverse backgrounds. We are looking for people who will use their knowledge, experience, and records of achievement to positively change the lives of students in Phoenix. You will train and earn your teacher’s certification with other outstanding Phoenix Teaching Fellows.
We seek the most talented and accomplished among you to teach math. Neither prior coursework in education nor past teaching experience is required. Coursework and content knowledge of math is necessary, but a major is not required.

Benefits of Phoenix Teaching Fellows include:
• Full time position in one of Phoenix’s high-need classrooms if accepted
• Customized Master of Education and certification program that will be completed while teaching full time
• Possible eligibility for the AmeriCorps Education Award ($4,725 grant) that may be used towards certification and Master’s coursework, or paying existing student loans
• Opportunities for student loan forbearance and forgiveness (undergrad and graduate) for individuals committing to teach math, science, and special education in high-need communities
• Network of talented, committed teachers working to make a greater difference with the students who have the greatest need
• No-cost, specialized summer training that includes a student teaching component, during which Fellows receive hands-on training and coaching on effective teaching strategies; Fellows will also receive a transitional living stipend

Due to the competitive nature of the program and limited available interview spots, we urge you to complete your application in the next two weeks. Applications are reviewed and interviews are granted on a rolling basis.

As a Phoenix Teaching Fellow, you will make a critical impact on students who truly need dedicated, inspirational teachers. Learn more today:
