I've been trying to get a band together for awhile now but it just hasn't seemed to work out. I am a 24 year old female keyboardist/bassist. I can play a little bit of guitar as well. I am open to almost any type of music. I tend to prefer rock or alternative, though. I do compose some of my own music (minus the lyrics because I suck at writing lyrics), but would also be open to playing covers. Eventually I would like to play only originals. Learn to play the drums the right way. Don�t develop bad habits that you eventually won�t be able to break. You can�t really be considered a true drummer without first building some basic rudimentary skills regardless of what type of music you want to play.

There is a big difference between a true drummer and a self taught one who�s learned to bash out some beats to songs and learned one basic roll. A properly trained drummer really knows what he/she is playing and has developed enough skills to play any type of music.

I will teach you stick control, your basic rudiments, timing schemes, beat notation, how to read, how to have a nice smooth sound even if you�re playing heavy metal, and how to put it all together on your set. You can be playing well enough to make some good music within 6 months or less of starting with just a little effort and patients. Most can play a basic beat in 2 to 4 lessons.

So, have you seen the ad's for Famous Sams' new acoustic nights on Saturdays? Because I sure have and I plan on going out to them.

I'm 22, singer/songwriter/guitarist. I have notebooks full of originals, and many of them are performance ready. I tend to go for a more pop-punk/indie/alt sound. Many of my influences include Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, Blink 182, The Distillers, Rancid, Finch, MCR, The Used, Weezer, Anti-Flag, The Clash, and many more.

I want to find somebody else to start jamming with in hopes of playing out eventually. Famous Sams' is just the start (and it's close to my house..lol), but it's a great opportunity to start. I'm looking for another guitarist or even a bassist who has an acoustic bass.. or even both! Do a trio. Vocals are a plus; Back-ups are always sweet, and if you have your own material you want to sing, then even sweetier. Preferably looking for peeps in the age range of 18-28. I am a 19 yr old guitarist looking to play with a drummer who can keep a good rhythm. I know a good amount of theory and can write, i just need to get a band going. Some influences include classics like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and pink floyd to indie rock like pavement, Andrew Bird.

Really open to ideas though, mostly looking to rock out have fun, but i'm also interested in writing music,playing gigs and making money if you want to get serious.

Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter looking for a singer
to collaborate with. I have lots of instrumental ideas covering
a wide range of styles. I've also written lyrics for several songs,
but would expect the singer would want to write the bulk of them.

If you listen to the music and say, "that's cool, but where are
you going to play?", then this project isn't for you. If you need
to play out as a supplement to your income, then this project isn't
for you. If you base your decision on whether or not a song is worth
playing based on whether or not people will dance to it, then this
project is not for you.

This is about making music for the love of making music, placing art
first above everything else. Nothing's off the table. Any style
can be played, as long as we like it.
