Mendonca & Suarez, LLC is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee accounting operations, strengthen internal controls, and deliver decision-ready reporting. You will support leadership with forecasting, financial insights, and process improvements aligned to a modern, technology-enabled professional services firm.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own monthly and quarterly close, financial statements, and internal management reporting packages
- Oversee billing and collections workflows in partnership with operations; monitor cash flow and working capital
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls for core finance processes
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis; provide actionable insights to leadership
- Improve reporting accuracy and timeliness through standardization, automation, and KPI dashboards
- Coordinate year-end readiness and support external partners for tax filings and compliance deliverables
- Provide profitability and cost analysis to support firm-wide planning and operational decisions
Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including ownership of close and financial reporting
- CPA required
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial controls; professional services experience preferred
- Experience improving close cycles, policies, procedures, and internal control environments
- Strong proficiency with accounting systems and reporting automation; advanced Excel skills required
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for leadership decision support
- Ability to partner effectively across teams and communicate financial insights clearly
- Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance preferred, or equivalent experience
