This is an exquisite pastel-toned rendition done in the 30's of what appears to be a young woman of means in a garden setting of flowers and peacocks. Original wooden frame, under glass. 29" x 23.5" cutout matte oval.
Item acquired in 1970 from uncle who was the original owner.
Painting has copyright symbol followed by L.V. above the Ernest DeNagy signature.
The item was taken to an art dealer who claimed it looked like could be an original watercolor but could not tell without removing the glass.
Excellent condition, note a very slight pucker in border about 1.5" to the right of signature.
Has been appraised for $1500. Serious offers considered.
