Original 1968 Lucas Samaras "Match" color screen print (serigraph). This is not a digital reprint but the original from the Pace Gallery which exclusively represented Lucas Samaras. See picture of Pace Gallery inscription on reverse of screen print, lower right hand corner.
Lucas Samaras (1936 - 2024) was a Greek-born American photographer, sculptor and painter whose work is exhibited today at the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago and J. Paul Getty Museum (LA).
His body of work has best been described as mid-20th century avant-garde. There are only a few original "Match" color screen prints for sale today, but at many times this price. The pictures don't do justice to the strength and vitality of the colors.
$65. Screen print is 14" wide and 18" tall, in excellent condition (and framed for easy hanging).
Must pick - up at Central Ave and Encanto, central Phoenix (near the Heard Museum).
