As a tire tester, these surprised me. I was expecting a heavier tire, a ton of pinch flat protection and sidewalls that wont fold. What I didnt expect was HOW FAST they would be when the legs were pushing hard.
These are all 3 ply x 33tpi "Gravity Shield" casing (1000g, so not a DH casing) with Gum-x rubber and big APF pinch flat chafers built into the bead.
Gum-x 3D for durability, speed and cornering grip. RETAIL at $96.
Magi-X (Wild Enduro Front) for low memory damping and ridiculous grip only Michelin can bring. RETAIL at $105 plus tax
WILD ENDURO SERIES
2.4 or 2.6 REAR Gum-X. Can be used front and rear. $69ea for 2, $59ea for 4
2.4 or 2.6 FRONT Magi-X. The stickiest compound you will ever use, at the expense of rolling speed. $79ea for 2
WILD ENDURO REAR NOTE: On sequential days, I tested the 2.4, then the 2.6 on the back, and was disappointed to see that these were the exact same width casing, only difference was the tread configurations, but somehow that meatier 2.6 knob layout gave it a BUNCH MORE rolling resistance than the 2.4. Stick with the 2.4 if RR is your priority or go for the meatier 2.6 if wanting ultimate grip or bike park confidence.
AM2 SERIES (All Mountain second generation)
WILD AM2 Competition. A rounder version of the Wild Enduro makes this faster for front or rear, and enduro race worthy.
FORCE AM2 Competition. A refined faster tread design on the same casing that seems destined for hardpack. This became a favorite of mine in one ride. It is for the enduro rider that wants to sacrifice a bit of grip on the back for a faster time. FAST hardpack tire tread design with gum-x, Gravity shield casing .
MSRP $110. $69ea for 2
AM SERIES NOTE. These tires were exceptional at air retention as I always test tires with no sealant at first. Losing only 2-3 psi per day without sealant.
