How long will the battery last ? Google "What is the expected life in miles of a Tesla battery ? The answer is 300-500,000 miles...Your gas car isn't going to make it this long and will cost thousands in repairs to try, plus the compression will decrease just like the battery will degrade.
It takes so long to charge...If you can't charge at home, maybe this isn't the car for you..Go home plug in overnight, wake up next morning, unplug...takes maybe a minute. If you run low on a charge, there's superchargers most everywhere. Average car costs $250 a month in gas......Charging at home from 10% to 100% is $7, maybe $40 a month....FREE if you have solar.
If the power goes out you're stuck...well Einstein, the gas pumps are electric...solar will still work if you have it.
The parts are so expensive...No, check Amazon or Ebay, they are very inexpensive and plenty around. No smog, oil changes, sensors, timing belts, spark plugs, head gaskets, etc...No leaks in the driveway, Brakes last 100,000 miles.
Yes, Tesla's are very quick off the line to 80 or so. Many models do 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Yes, a road trip will take longer due to charging. Like I tell people, Tesla's aren't for everyone, but they are for most people. If they were such POS, why are there so many on the road ? Ohh look, there's one now ...
