The vehicle is newly overhauled for street performance, less than 5 mi on odometer since mechanical restoration completed in August 2024 (30k miles on odometer). The 1978 GM Chevy 350cc engine (SBC 350cc) which had known vulnerabilities specifically the cast iron heads were prone to cracking, were upgraded to aluminum enforcer heads which were purchased new and assembled from the ground up with all new hardware, valves, guides, seals, performance (comp cams) rocker arms, push rods, high volume oil pump, and an edelbrock high performance intake/carb generating an estimated 350hp based on similar builds. The cam is a roller lifter GM stock from a 1985 era Corvette. Headers were dipped and refinished in ceramic aluminum. Engine block was baked and refinished in ceramic red. The enforcer heads are mated to an edebrock performer intake package, edelbrock chrome valve covers, edelbrock AVS2 carb with electric choke, and edelbrock air filter. High volume oil pump, new distributor assembly. The engine is entirely new but for the block and roller cam which was honed, baked and polished. All work is documented with gallery photos for new owner.
Vehicle has a new fuel pump, water pump, tstat, new radiator hoses, new upgraded stainlees fuel and transmission lines, new AC Compressor, and more, too much to list. All upgrades and new parts were documented with photography, receipts and documentation for the new owner. Machining was done locally here in Phoenix. More details and photos of the overhaul are available upon request. Receipts will be furnished will sale, totalling $5200.
The fibrglass body is in near perfect condition, no dents or deep scratches, zero rust or corrosion, this was a California classic prior to its relocation to Arizona in 2019. There is a minor fissure in the fiberglass on the drivers side door jam and a small 1/2" fissure on the left rear wheel well that will need to be reinforced. The engine bay was primed, sanded and painted in original GM satin black finish and semi gloss accents. All engine brackets and hardware was dipped and blasted and refinished in GM colors.
The vehicle is in a satin silver anniversary paintjob that has been partially prepped for paint. I am holding off on finishing the paint to reserve buyers right to choose color scheme and quality. The interior is original and worn, but all dash plastic, carpeting, paneling, chrome, is intact and all is functional and in its place. Door window motors are functional, one is new. Both window switches are new. Dash guage circuit board is new. Guages,Tach and odometer work. Seats will need to be reupholstered. All chrome emblems are with the vehicle but have since been removed for paint. They will be included with the sale as well as the original L-82 engine heads, intake, Qjet carb, from the original build in the event the new owner wishes to restore it to factory spec. We have a paint shop that we routinely send our jobs to and can negotiate a package deal whereby you choose what color and quality base coat and clear coat you want and we can complete the paint work. The cost of paint can vary dramatically depending on color, quality, and so we are happy to put you in touch with our paint shop directly for quotes.
