Seafood Shanty, a high-volume waterfront restaurant in the heart of Edgartown, is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef / Sous Chef to join our culinary team for the upcoming season.
We are looking for a hands on leader with strong line experience, a passion for fresh seafood, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency, organization, and quality.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations
Lead and supervise line cooks and prep staff during service
Maintain food quality, presentation, and consistency
Help manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
Ensure sanitation, safety, and cleanliness standards are upheld
Assist with menu execution and seasonal specials
Support training and development of kitchen staff
Qualifications:
kitchen experience
Strong knowledge of seafood preparation and high-volume service
Ability to work efficiently under pressure
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Reliable, organized, and team-oriented
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
