Pane Bianco is an Italian deli located in Phoenix, Arizona that has been open since 2003. The second restaurant concept by James Beard Award Winning Chef Chris Bianco (of Pizzeria Bianco), Pane Bianco serves fresh baked bread, sandwiches, salads, and NY Style 18” pizzas (by the slice too!) We are open for lunch Monday and Tuesday from 11-3, and open for both lunch and dinner Wednesday-Saturday (11-9).
We are looking to bring on cooks/ bakers assistants to join our hard working team. We are accepting applicants for both part-time and full-time positions. At least two years of experience in a bakery or pizza restaurant setting is preferred. Please review the job responsibilities and skills preferred below before submitting your resume.
General Responsibilities
- Assist with daily production of fresh-baked breads and other baked-items, according to established recipes and schedules
- Support sandwich and pizza prep, including slicing meats and cheeses, preparing toppings, sauces, and fillings, and assembling items to order
- Shape, portion, and bake bread and pizza, ensuring consistency in quality, texture, and appearance
- Monitor ovens and baking times for bread and pizza, adjusting as needed for volume and product type
- Maintain organized prep stations for bread, sandwich, and pizza production
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards, including proper labeling, storage, and temperature control
- Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing ingredients using FIFO practices
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen/ bakery and prep areas, including mixers, ovens, and work surfaces
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house teams to support smooth service during busy periods
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including prep, station setup, and end-of-day cleaning
- Support daily specials production and high-volume service periods
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Min. 2 years experience working with bread or pizza
- Comfortability working with high temperature ovens
- Familiarity with sandwich preparation and deli-style service a plus
- Basic understanding of baking techniques and professional kitchen procedures
- Ability to follow recipes, prep lists, and production schedules accurately
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings or nights
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Interest in Italian food, bread, and pizza craftsmanship
- Must have or be willing to obtain an Arizona Food Handler’s Card
