Bruce is your super sweet puppy dog type of gelding, but has the speed when asked! Bruce is a 9 Year Old, Grade, Bay-Gelding. Standing at 14.2-14.3h and is just as cute as a button.
Bruce has been used for trails and absolutely loves being out there and is the type of guy to crack a cold one on and take you home drunk! LOL. This guy will go almost anywhere you point him to he will go over logs, up and over dirt/manure piles and just has absolutely no hesitation! He also LOVES the water he is the type to play in his water bucket I couldn’t imagine this boy at the river or lake! He is going to make someone a very happy trail buddy.
Bruce rides really nicely in the arena with a nice walk and lope, his previous owners never taught him how to trot so he will try to just pick up the lope from the walk when asked to pick up, we have been working on it and he’s been catching on to his trot really well and quickly! He is a smooth ride and has a great stop, back up, turn around, and neck reins super well!
My clients young son rides him around and he is great for him, gives him no silly business and gets right to work!
Bruce ties, lunges, picks up all four, stands for the farrier, and loads/hauls. Bruce also absolutely CANNOT WAIT to get in the trailer for whatever adventure is next every time! (He’ll practically load himself!)
You can walk him in the trailer or just stand outside and he will jump right in and get situated in his place! He’s such a character!😋
He has been used around cows gathering and pushing them around and he does okay with them but can get a bit worked up and hot, he doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and will not buck or have any nasty attitude but just doesn’t enjoy it I think. With that being said he has roped outside before but has not been in a box nor tried team roping! Not saying he couldn’t come around to it but he just wasn’t brought into it in the nicest way.
Bruce has got all the potential in the world but I truly think his true calling is out exploring the beautiful trails with his new partner!
