We're looking for a SAFETY MINDED, physically fit and motivated Tree Groundsman to join our team! As a Groundsman, you'll be a vital part of our tree care operations, providing essential support to our climbers and crew leaders.
Job Title: Experienced Tree Groundsman
Location: Phoenix, AZ Schedule: Summer Hours: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (Beat the heat!) Pay Range: $20.00 – $25.00 / hour (Based on experience)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an Experienced Tree Groundsman to join our professional arboriculture team. Unlike most residential crews, we treat tree care as a science and a career. We are looking for a teammate who knows their way around a rigging block, can maintain a professional job site, and wants a long-term home with full benefits.
Key Responsibilities
Expert Rigging: Support climbers using advanced rigging techniques, lowering heavy wood safely and efficiently.
Equipment Mastery: Proficient operation of brush chippers, chainsaws (all sizes), and loaders/skid steers.
Job Site Leadership: Lead ground-level cleanup and ensure all safety protocols (PPE, zone management) are strictly followed.
Maintenance: Perform field maintenance on saws, including sharpening and tensioning chains.
Requirements & Experience
Proven Experience: At least 1–2 years of professional tree care experience is required. You should already know your knots (Bowline, Clove Hitch, Cow Hitch) and chainsaw safety.
AZ Summer Ready: Ability to work a demanding 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM shift in outdoor desert conditions.
Reliable Transportation: Must be at the yard on time daily, everyday, work as hard as the hardest working crew member, and have a great attitude
Safety First: A "zero-accident" mindset and the ability to stay alert throughout the shift.
