Hi there - I'm in the process of forming a collaborative collective or 'crossover music'
project, where individuals around the world can contribute via the internet.
In order to make a contribution, you will have to have access to recording facillities and the internet, or know someone in your locality who is willing to have you share theirs.
My template for the kind of music that I'd like to create is the Australian / Irish collaboration DEAD CAN DANCE.
Here's the description of DCD from wikipedia:
Dead Can Dance performs a haunting, atmospheric blend of neoclassical darkwave, world music, and ethereal folk. Their music is characterized by solemn, grand soundscapes, blending medieval European influences, Gregorian chants, and Middle Eastern instrumentation with Lisa Gerrard’s unique glossolalia vocals and Brendan Perry’s evocative, dramatic singing.
Key characteristics of their sound include:
* Ethereal Wave/Darkwave: Often seen as pioneers of this genre, they produce otherworldly, atmospheric music that is both haunting and danceable.
* Neoclassical & Medieval: They frequently utilize instruments like the hammered dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy, and lute to create a timeless, medieval atmosphere.
* World Music Influences: Their work incorporates diverse musical traditions, including African polyrhythms, Gaelic folk, and Middle Eastern melodies.
* Cinematic Intensity: Lisa Gerrard’s vocal style is often described as a “banshee power” or a “haunting lament,” often used in soundtracks.
* Goth Adjacent: While not traditional gothic rock, they are considered a staple in the darkwave and goth scenes.
Their music is a "constructed soundscape of mesmerising grandeur and solemn beauty," that bridges ancient and modern influences.

This is obviously not a money making endeavor (with the state of the world economy), but rather a place that creative folks of like minds from around the world can gather online to create beautiful music together.
Anyone in the collective will be able to suggest a piece for others to contribute to, and to craft the final mix if they wish to do so.
I've created many of this type of project in the past, and they have been highly successful.
If you know someone in your locality who might be interested, or you could offer them recording facilities, PLEASE pass this note on to them.
That's it for now - I'll set up a group 'messenger' page, through which we can communicate.
