Scottsdale Roots, a reggae-style cover band focused on the hits from Stick Figure, Iration, Rebelution, and more. Think “SoCal reggae, California Roots Festival"
Five years ago, the bass player and drummer started a pop-punk cover band. It blew up locally—big shows, solid pay—because the demand and nostalgia were there. Now, we’re doing the same with SoCal style reggae - Scottsdale/Phoenix crowds in their 30s–40s are hungry for it.
This project is all about fun: locking into that pocket, bringing the groove to life, and getting crowds to sing along.
What we need:
-Vocalists, or Guitar/Vocalists - MC type that can hold a crowd. Past experience. Knows the assignment.
-Guitar (Open to have 2) - rhythm, lead, you are the core
-Keyboardist – reggae keys = skanks + brass lines, we need someone who can handle both and bring that authentic texture to the sound.
What we already have:
Bassist
Drummer
Booking Manager
The plan:
1. Build a 20–30 song setlist of recognizable hits, no originals. Learn the first 10 songs here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/11bernZoum77Ct7azJlpJS?si=df8b44b689724210
2. Rehearse once a week or once every 2 weeks (couple hour rehearsal)
3. After 3–5 months, start hitting big shows and public jam sessions (5-6 per year)
About us:
We’re experienced musicians with pro gear and gigging/touring backgrounds. We want someone who already listens to and loves Stick Figure / Iration / Rebelution, not just someone who’s heard of them. Familiarity makes everything smoother and more fun.
This isn’t about grinding every weekend or chasing original-artist fame. It’s about sounding great, playing music we love, and enjoying the ride with the right people. The crowd will follow.
