180ft2 - Retired prof'l seeks lodging beginning Oct/Nov (60 Corridor or south)

180ft2

Do you have ...
A larger than average room for rent?
Reliable internet and wifi? (not satellite)
A working dishwasher?
non smoking residents only?
A quiet place? (no night owls please)

If so, please read on ----

Retired professional seeks room to rent beginning November 1st. I'm also open to a rental beginning in early October if the ideal situation came together. Otherwise, I plan to use Oct to meet folks with an eye towards Nov 1. I will be driving cross country from the Boston area in late September, so I won't be able to meet with anyone face to face before then.

Ideally, looking for a larger furnished room but can make do with unfurnished if needed. Need enough clear floor space in the room for a 5'x2' folding table desktop and chair. If you've got an abundance of spare kitchen/pantry space (not something I often see), then I can possibly trade off for room size to some extent. Tend to prefer southeast metro, but open to other locales if the home is on acreage. Not a fan of high density living.

Non smoker, clean, responsible, and financially reliable with no debt. No drug use whatsoever. Seldom even do aspirin. Straight, not looking. Impeccable references.

Retired but work weekdays during market trading hours (~7am til 2pm). Accomplished cook .. so I prefer eating my own to standard restaurant fare. Not a fan of dirty dishes piling up in the sink, so having a working dishwasher usually solves that issue. Bake my own bread, brew my own beer (summers only), and make my own ice cream on occasion. Shop ethnic a lot. Southeast Asian and fusion are favorites. (Indonesian dishes were a staple growing up as a kid.)

Interests include hiking, biking, listening to assorted music (jazz, classical, ambient chill, alt rock, post rock, etc.) at subdued background levels. Seldom if ever watch TV. Nor do I do movie streaming. I do enjoy a microbrew or glass of wine to wind down on weekends.

Great with critters of all kinds, but please no yappy neighbor dogs. Looking for a relatively quiet place to land (folks living and or working on a regular daytime schedule, no loud TV in adjoining spaces, no high strung barking dogs, etc). Thanks for reading and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have. Please respond via email initially to set up a good time to speak by phone. And it would be helpful if you spelled out whether any of my baseline criteria might pose an issue. Thank you!

Cheers,
Pieter
