Position Overview
•Position: Wireless Field Installation Technician
•Job Type: 1099/Contracted Work
•Location: 100% Working in the field (Client’s cell site locations), Currently needing technicians residing in the Southwest (Las Vegas, Phoenix, Albuquerque, and El Paso).
•Compensation: Piece-rate pay (Net-30)

As a Wireless Field Installation Technician, you will be responsible for the physical installation, wiring, configuration, troubleshooting, and testing of hardware units at cell site locations. This role requires a self-starter with technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to clients. The position does require experience with Asentria SiteBoss Controllers or a minimum of 3 years working with cell site installation and/or integration. This is an outside field position and requires strong communication skills while working with internal back-office engineers and support teams to deal with installation and/or troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
This position requires working at the on-cell site locations, installing, wiring, configuring, troubleshooting, and testing of hardware units. Must be able to effectively execute duties with minimum to no direction while working well with the support team.
•Hardware Installation: Mount and install Asentria Site Boss controllers (e.g., S550, S572, S360 series) and expansion cards into equipment racks or cabinets.
•Low-Voltage Wiring: Run, terminate, and manage infrastructure cabling to integrate sensors for climate, power, HVAC, generator, and security access monitoring.
•Complete cabling and conduit installations (run and terminate cables, including Cat5/6, power, and fiber).
•System Configuration: Configure basic network communication settings using the Command Line Interface (CLI) or web-based interfaces.
•Troubleshooting & Testing: Use loopback tools, multimeters, and network verification software to ensure all sensors and remote telemetry links work perfectly. Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to wireless networks, including signal interference, hardware malfunctions, and connectivity problems.
•Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance and perform repairs on wireless systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
•Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide clear explanations of technical processes and solutions.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including equipment inventory and COP.
•Provide clean field reports, wiring diagrams, and closing photographs to the engineering team upon site completion.
•Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and industry standards while working at client sites and handling wireless equipment.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of experience in telecom field installation, cellular infrastructure, or low-voltage electrical work.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of wireless communication systems.
•Strong understanding of DC power systems, relay monitoring, sensor wiring, and IP networking basics.
•Proficient in the operation of a cell phone, PC and related applications such as email, Microsoft, and web browsers.
•Tools and Equipment: Proficiency with basic hand tools, crimpers, multimeters, and laptop-to-device terminal software.
•Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
•Flexibility: Willingness to travel to client sites and work flexible hours as needed.

•Strong troubleshooting ability, this is a technical installation and support position, which is required to solve technical problems, sometimes with limited information. If you don’t like to solve problems, then this position isn’t for you.
•Knowledge and experience with network and telecommunication issues (both hardware and software).
•Reliable Transportation: Access to a dependable vehicle for traveling to various job sites. May require a 4x4 depending on site location.
•Tools: Ownership of basic tools and equipment necessary for the job (must have a laptop and quality cell service with Hotspot).
•Physical Ability: Capability to lift-up to 50 pounds and work in different environments, including outdoor locations and elevated areas.
•Background Check: Successful completion of a background check may be required.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a field contractor to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
•Walk continuously throughout the jobsite while carrying ladders, tools, and installation materials.
•Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneeling, twisting and turning, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools.
•May be required to lift-up to 50 lbs.
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This is a field position and requires 100% travel within a market. Travel includes significant driving time.
•Most work is completed outdoors – in any/all weather conditions.
•Frequent use of a computer is necessary.
•Must be able to utilize hand and power tools.
•Must have own tools.
•Must be able to work independently

Regarding Compensation: If selected, we will discuss it before interview to give you an opportunity to decide if you want to go forward with the interview.
•Site Boss installation - Depending on the technician’s schedule, an experienced technician can complete 1-3 sites a day (depending on cluster availability).
•Alarm Migration – Depending on the technician’s schedule, an experienced technician can complete 4-6 sites a day (depending on cluster availability).
•Other: Although there is flexibility with your schedule, the support team is only available Monday – Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
In this industry, downtime delays while waiting for support are common and you must be mindful of it when setting your schedule.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, meaning:
•You will not be eligible for employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off.
•You are responsible for paying your own taxes, including self-employment tax, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
•You have the freedom to manage your own schedule and work independently.
