American Standard Reversible Heat Pump R-410A Condenser equipment is available. This stand-alone unit is the other half of a split system that is mounted in the back yard area (the air handler goes in the attic). This condenser unit helps to provide either air conditioning (summer) or heated air (winter) into a 1,600 square foot single-story home without problems. Works well in air conditioner COOL mode, HEAT mode, or FAN mode. This unit has been very reliable over its 14 year lifespan so far (2011 install). The biggest setback with this unit is very infrequent and eventually-expected capacitor failure due to summer heat. As of Fall 2025, the unit has had two new capacitors installed (fan motor and compressor). This unit comes with a pre-installed TRANE hard-start kit to ensure compressor lasts longer and runs more reliably. Also comes with schematics and diagostic/troubleshooting paperwork in its side pocket. Model number shows "42" which means this is a 3.5 ton nominal capacity system. It has a 14 SEER efficiency rating and takes 12 lbs of R-410A refrigerant. Both the scroll compressor and motor fan are single-stage. Both energy star rated and AHRI certified. Condenser coils kept clean and in very good condition.

I am selling this condenser unit not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I am upgrading to the new R-454B system. You can integrate this existing R-410A unit within an existing R-410A heat pump configuration or instead use it for spare parts in the future, now that R-410A systems will soon no longer be available for new sale.
