A trained Service Dog, properly matched, can make a monumental impact on their human companion. For many of our heroic veterans, a Service Dog can offer a completely new horizon in life. Over the last decade, Hunters Creek Retrievers – Top Dog Training USA has placed approximately sixty Service Dogs for individuals with PTSD, anxiety, autism, POTS, and mobility issues.
With waiting lists for some organizations ranging from two to four years, and costs exceeding $30,000, Hunters Creek Retrievers Paw Pals Program has provided Labrador Retrievers at various levels of training within an affordable budget and faster timeline to enjoy the benefits a Service Dog delivers.
With almost thirty-five years of raising and training championship Labrador Retrievers we have been able to provide clients with Labrador Companions that can completely change a life. Our Labs are chosen for their desire to work, dedication, and soft, steady temperament. Our puppies begin training at a few days old with Early Neurological Stimulation, based on years of research by the United States military. We also do Stress Conditioning and Temperament Evaluation as our Lab puppies proceed through Top Dog Puppy Head Start Training, COME, SIT, and HEEL on whistle, hand signals, and verbal commands (the first step to housebreaking your new K9 companion).
Adolescent and older labs have temperaments ideal for Service Dog clients, including veterans, individuals with PTSD, anxiety, mobility issues, and other special needs, as well as those with mild temperaments and who are suitable for public access. For local clients or celebrity clients willing to foot the bill, we provide PRIVATE IN-HOME DOG TRAINING for the entire family; training has included kids as young as three years old who can perfectly control their new puppy and Seniors who need specialized off-leash training utilizing e-collars to prevent their dog from a distance. We also provide one-on-one training for those moving a sporting, hunting, and/or gun dog through the stages of field training. For out-of-town clients, we offer a one-on-one hunting/training session set in real-life hunting terrain and guided hunt-and-train packages during bird season. This fall, we will add board, train, and customized boarding packages to our new facilities near The Woodlands, TX.

CHLORINE DIOXIDE—Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is a yellow-green gas discovered in 1814. Since the early 1900s, people have been using it as a disinfectant. According to the CDC, chlorine dioxide is added to drinking water to protect people from harmful bacteria and other microorganisms. The EPA recognizes chlorine dioxide as a disinfectant for drinking water, and it is included in WHO’s Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality.
In medical settings, chlorine dioxide gas can help sterilize equipment, surfaces, rooms, and tools, such as an antimicrobial agent in water used in poultry processing and washing fruits and vegetables. Researchers have found chlorine dioxide is safe and effective at appropriate concentrations to help eliminate Legionella bacteria. Chlorine dioxide is an oxidant. This means chlorine dioxide removes electrons from another compound during a chemical reaction. This activity makes it toxic to many bacteria and fungi.
Chlorine dioxide is potentially toxic to humans at concentrations higher than 0.8 mg/L. Water purification tablets containing chlorine dioxide are marketed to campers, hikers, and backpackers to sanitize fresh water from rivers or lakes; carefully follow the instructions on the package if you use these products, and never use more than the recommended quantity per volume. In its pure form, chlorine dioxide is a hazardous gas. Still, most people are not likely to be exposed to air containing dangerous levels of chlorine dioxide as it rapidly breaks down in air into chlorine gas and oxygen.
1) Antimicrobial Activity
Chlorine dioxide is frequently used to sterilize water and make it safe to drink. According to the EPA, the maximum safe limit for chlorine dioxide in drinking water is 0.8 mg/L [7].
Chlorine dioxide gas can go through bacterial cell membranes and cause cell death in the pH range of 3-9 [4, 8].
In lab tests, chlorine dioxide was more effective than chlorine at inactivating fungal spores. It inactivated fungal spores by damaging the cell wall and membrane, causing the leakage of cell substances and, eventually, fungal death [9].
In another study, a chlorine dioxide solution reduced 98.2% of bacteria and fungi in a lab test (E. coli, Staphylococcus, Pseudomonas, listeria, salmonella, Candida albicans, etc) [3].
A Powerful Disinfectant
Chlorine dioxide's antimicrobial properties are used to disinfect food, surgical tools, and more [10, 11, 9].
Low chlorine dioxide concentrations effectively reduce E. coli present in water. Various chlorine dioxide products can help disinfect water and produce safe drinking water [12].
In a 30-month prospective study, chlorine dioxide-treated water decreased Legionella bacteria counts in a hospital. Additionally, no patients acquired Legionnaires disease during the study [13].
The bacteria on vegetable seed sprouts can cause stomach problems and disease outbreaks. Chlorine dioxide treatment and dry heating eliminated E. coli on radish seeds without damaging the seeds, which can help with food safety [11].
Chlorine dioxide-treated water significantly reduced Escherichia coli (E. coli) bacteria counts on baby spinach. However, non-culturable cells (bacteria that do not grow or divide) remained. The treatment did not affect the quality of the baby spinach, but it reduced its photosynthetic abilities [12].
