If you have never had a truly powerful brake that actually modulates, these may surprise you after a few miles. I have used Hope V4's and Quadiems on the same terrain and these are about 40% more powerful than each of them. They deliver more brake control and modulation than shimano, no surprise there. No wandering bite point, or fade. After bedding in, they remain noise free, even in rain.
