NEW Hayes Dominion BALANCED brakeset. In trail riding, the physics of braking show that 60% to 80% of all braking traction comes from the front tire. This is why it is so easy to lock the rear tire compared to the front when using matched calipers. In heavy braking, loss of traction control is the result. All other wheeled sports proportion the braking strength to deal with this disparity. After experiencing balanced front and rear braking, equal pull is used on both brake handles and confidence in the use of front brakes increases.
