NOTE, I have 40lbs of brake pads for most popular brakesets. I have tested them all, oem as well factory pads. I specialize in balancing brakes front to rear for the best performance suited to the riders needs. If you dont see it here, ASK!
I have glazed my fair share of cheaper front pads on Gravity runs. Bite is great, until all you get is howl, closely followed by the feeling that your pads are ice skating.
Magura 8.r 8.p 7.r 7.p Race or Performance Brake Pads.
These are Magura brand, not cheap aftermarket. Race is what I use on the front end of my DH and enduro rig, there is no other harder braking pad, and I have tried many. These scrub off more speed in the shortest time. (Shimano-Magura hardware combination). These are completely silent for me in the dry. 4 piece set with steel backs and thicker pad than most. The magic of 4 piece brake pads is that you can mix and match. On some bikes I will use 2 pieces along with 2 pieces of the 8.p Performance pads, or 2 pieces of my favorite aftermarket Enduro Pro sintered pad if I want more gravity oriented fade resistance. Best of all worlds when the front brake has 70% of the tire traction.
RACE 8.r and 7.r pads are $50 plus tax in shops where you can find them.
$29ea with 4 set purchase, $35ea for 2 sets. I have both 4 piston or 2 piston.
PERFORMANCE 8.p and 7.p pads are $40 plus tax in shops.
$25ea with 4 set purchase, $29ea for 2 sets.
I also have several other pads for MT5, MT7 calipers to choose from, including ceramic, a favorite on the rear for the modulation and heat resistance. Even some green long lasting "sport" versions for the heavyweight e-bike rider. We can discuss in person.
NOTE, these are held in place by the magnetic pistons, no springs necessary.
