Very reluctantly, I am having to sell my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited CRD 3.0. I am in Arizona. I'd keep this thing forever, as I am very happy with this car, but I'm moving overseas next month and I can't take it with me.
This is a Common Rail Diesel. It is an interesting combo of Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler. The drivetrain is Mercedes-Benz. There weren't many sold in North America, only through the years 2007 and 2008. You can read more about this car here:
I have owned this car for 4 years. 264k miles on it, 25k of which I put on it. Based on old records I have for it, most of these miles were put on by the first two owners who did a lot of highway driving with it. Third owner did not drive it too much. Fourth owner, me, it is mostly highway. Taken it crosscountry a few times with no issues. I have service records for all 4 ownerships and it was well taken care of all throughout its life.
Body and interior is in great shape for being just short of 19 years old. Limited package, fully loaded. No major accidents, no major rust, title is clean/clear and in hand. Was planning on towing with it, but that never happened. She's rated to 7400lbs.
4x4 works perfect, A/C blows cold, heated seats work, Android Auto, Boston Acoustic speakers, leather interior in great condition. Air Lift 1000 kit installed. Most of the suspension and steering were replaced with Bilstein and Moog parts by me. No engine or transmission leaks. Transmission has been flushed. Transmission is also slap stick automatic, so you have full control. Oil changes on a regular basis using only Mobil 1 10w-30 European Car formula. This is probably the easiest car I have ever changed oil on. No problems with the turbo and she can run surprisingly fast for a heavy SUV.
17-18CTY/22-24HWY. I have seen it get as good as 26HWY when I don't have to run the AC. Really good in my book for a full time AWD. No DEF required for this as it was a year below the cutoff which is really nice.
Only things about it are that the No 6 glowplug is out on it, however this being Arizona, it really doesn't make a difference until it gets around 40F at night in winter, but it is still starts fine regardless. I have replacement glowplugs for all six cylinders. AGM battery replaced this spring.
Other thing that is just weird is that I think there is a dirty sensor on my transmission. It occasionally will send an error to the computer that it thinks the car is in park when it is clearly driving, so the computer just sends a 'duly noted' message and overrides it. It is really random when that happens, but the car doesn't drive any different. Been doing it now and then all four years I have owned it, to be honest. Transmission has no other issues otherwise. These two reasons are why the check engine light is on.
Lastly, and this is only a concern if you live in Arizona, the rear differential seeps oil from the seal when temperatures rise to over 100F during the day. It stops leaking once temperatures fall below that. The amount of oil is very minimal that comes out and is checked regularly just in case. But it never seems to fall anywhere near it needs toping off, it is more annoying than anything.
Car comes with some parts. A refurbed turbo, glowplugs, oil, oil filters, Moog tie rods, glue for the rear diff, some other parts that I have lying around. Is wired for a dashcam, but the dashcam has some issues so if you can figure it out, can have it. Rear camera in box. Full sized spare tire. Massive stack of service records from all four owners.
This car is really the total package. Full time AWD, 4x4, great towing capacity, bulletproof engine and transmission, no DEF required, fully loaded. I really love this car and hope to sell it to someone who knows something about them.
