The frame and running gear are out of a car from a museum in the Chicago area. The gentleman that purchased the car only wanted the body, and sold the balance of the vehicle online.
The body is it is out of the Ohio area, where in the end, it was ran unsuccessfully in Nostalgic Class Racing (hence the 84 number) and was retired. I have no additional information or documentation to authenticate the racing history on the body.
This vehicle has a clean Arizona Title.
Back to the frame and running gear, whoever restored them, they went to some great extent smoothing the sides of the frame rails. It has all the original components it was born with in 1933 including the manual push rod brake system, and the running 21-stud flathead motor, with a closed drive shaft and the banjo rearend that drives the 16-inch wire wheels with the original shocks.
The original radiator, grill, and speedo box were not included in my purchase of the frame/running gear. The motor and 3-speed manual transmition are painted the Ford green of that time period, and the balance of everything is painted a gloss black.
The body has not been restored. With that said, if you are looking for one of these, you’ll be amazed at how exceptionally beautiful the outside of the unrestored body is in its spray bombed eggshell white racing patina. The rocker panels both need replacing, which I have, and there is small areas in the lower front of the wheel well openings (Quarter Panel), which I also have. It also needs botj of the wheel wells replaced, which I have not purchased yet.
The interior will need a new floor, side rails, and as mentioned, both wheel wells, all of which I have not purchased yet. The new sheet metal I have already purchased will be listed below, and is included. The front clip is represented with a 1934 grill, a Rootlieb hood (I think), where the side panels are provided, not painted eggshell white or installed, and includes all the hardware I have.
Additionally, a Panoramic Sunroof from a 2003 Mini Cooper was welded in by Jim Crews of “The Tin Man” in Oak Grove, Minnesota. It requires the controls, and drains in the 4-corners yet. The two seats in it are from a 79 Bronco.
The Passenger door is in excellent condition, though the driver’s door needs a panel on the lower inside (which I have both, and will be included). TheR e is glass in all areas except for the driver’s door, though the quarter glass are both cracked, but good for templates. I have a better front window frame I'll be incuding. All the garnish moldings are there including 2 new “A” pillar pieces.
Note: This is a running, driving vehicle that still needs a little bit more work on the electrical, like turn signals and head lights. The horns are the original 6V, and IT NEEDS TIRES.
It is listed as is, where is, with no warranty.
