57 year old car with 68,000 actual miles. Not easy to find. See what 1968-1970 amc javelins with a 343 and 4 speed are going for on any carsite and compare prices.
The car has everything going for it. Extreme dirt cheap price $15,000 - $35,000 less than all other 68-70 Javelins that have a 343 and 4 speed with under 70k miles. And priced way less than what it can be parted out for. You'll be the only Javelin at the car show in a sea of non-rare cars. Although I don't think this car was originally a black car, the black paint option on 68-70 Javelins was offered in 1 year only - 1969, and you see very few of them.
Runs and drives well. The 343 engines are getting rarer, fewer and fewer, and more and more desirable to AMC guys. Black paint could use paint work, the clear coat is peeling on the roof and on the tops of the fenders. Could use all new interior. The tail lights have cracks. Priced accordingly. Fast car. Very fun to drive. Sounds amazing. The hood is worth $3000+.
Rebuilt title. It became a rebuilt title car 30+ years ago, in the '90's. The story I was told was that an auto paint shop worker around Tucson, Arizona owned it and it was his baby and he passed away and the car was parked at the shop and the shop owner called the mans mom and asked if she wanted the car and she didn’t want it, the shop owner didn't have the title for it so he applied for a title and the sheriff inspected the car and they issued him a rebuilt title.
It has power steering, power brakes, front disc brakes, a 343 and a 4 speed, running and driving well.
Hard to find another manual 4 speed transmission Javelin in any condition anywhere in the country for under $38,000, let alone running and driving well, the 4 speed manual trans ones are just not out there.
I am a snowbird. I left 11 cars with my mechanic friend to tinker on while I was gone 6 months for the summer last year and this was basically the only car he liked and worked on over the summer. Idk what I'm try to say, basically the car has had some recent extra special attention paid to it. If I were keeping the car, the next steps I would probably do are to add a rear spoiler and paint the hood and inside the trunk and throw in some new carpet and a headliner.
Not your run of the mill Javelin or stock 305 Camaro or 302 Mustang. Built 343ci. This thing rips. Take it to Irwindale Speedway Thursday nights and shake the earth, if they were still open.
1969 amc javelin with an original steel 1970 hood 1970 fender extensions and 1970 front bumper. Still has all of the rare cold air induction parts inside the hood. (people ask $2900+ tax and shipping for just a 1970 ram air javelin hood like this) Built 343ci motor with 4 speed manual trans.

I'm a weekend hobbyist and a big car guy. I've had people drive/fly in from Dallas, San Francisco, El Centro, Prescott, Show Low and Los Angeles in the last few months to buy old cars from me.
I am a hobbiest/enthusiast with no life so I have gone through the car to make it as nice as I could for its next owner.
Recent repairs to make it nice for the next guy:
New:
Starter
Alternator
Headers $$
New Fuel tank ($690 + tax/shipping/install, so $1,000+)
Full exhaust $1200+
Carb kit
Front brake pads
New summit 600 carb ($400+)
both windows repaired so they roll and stay on track, with the solid window track repair kit that AMC dudes use.
There are a lot of nice javelins that have been recently done by big name people:
