Selling an AudioControl Maestro 4 that is identical to the Arcam FMJ AV888 that retails for $8,000. AudioControl is the manufacturing builder for Arcam. Only difference between these two preamplifier's is the chassis design. In my opinion the chassis and digital lights display on the AudioControl Maestro 4 looks a lot better than the Arcam FMJ AV888. I posted a picture of both to compare.
I compared this preamp with my McIntosh system and the AudioControl has more clarity with both music and movies. McIntosh was a little more musical with music but got smoked with movies. This is the best sounding preamplifier I've ever heard for movies and is at the top of the my list for stereo 2 channel music as well. I don't think you'll find a better unit that excels to the top for both movies and music like this piece does. Open to demo for serious buyers.
I was so close from replacing my McIntosh system with this preamplifier but I have too much invested in my McIntosh equipment so this units on the let go list. Nothing eles will compare in the price range I'm selling this preamp at.
