My father was a Graduate Gemologist, jewelry designer/maker, photographer, woodworker -- an all-around creative man. For years, he and my mother had a nice jewelry store and gallery in the fashionable 5th Avenue Shops in Old Town Scottsdale. He passed away and I've been selling many of his belongings for my mother. After almost a year we're still pulling items out of his workshop. My mom said that dad purchased these in the late 1970s and that he was always buying stuff and then it would lie around his workshop forever, lol!
What is a worry stone? A worry stone is a small, smooth stone (often made from a crystal or gemstone) that is shaped like an oval and has a thumb-shaped indentation. The object of worry stones is to rub the thumbprint back and forth as a way to calm the mind. Worry stones have been around for centuries -— and for good reason. These compact rocks couldn't be easier to keep on hand, ready to grab whenever worry should strike. They're wonderful when you're feeling stressed, soothing to the touch, and an excellent addition to your self-care routine.
The history of worry stones: Worry stones have been found all over the world, so the exact origin isn't quite clear. But from what we can tell, people everywhere —- from Ancient Greece to Tibet to North America —- have all found a sense of peace when taking a moment to touch their worry stone and let their worries go.
Their size is approximately 2" x 1". They're commonly made from Onyx but some of these appear to be better quality. I have not attempted to clean these because I'm not sure what to use.
These typically retail for about $5 each depending on the material. You can have all 35 for only $40. Selling as a lot only.
You're welcome to come over any day of the week during the afternoon hours of 12:00 - 6:00. My wife and I work from home but one of us will be able to get away from our computers to take an afternoon work break and show these to you.
