The perfect gift that the family can enjoy for years!
Hello, neighbors. I realize this posting is lengthy but since I get asked a lot of questions I figure this way I can answer the most common questions right away. I have the technology to scan/digitize reels of movie film (such as home movies from the 1930s through 1980s). You may have old home movies that you've wanted to digitize but learned it can be very expensive. Well, I purchased a film scanner in order to scan my father's many home movies. I've completed that project and figure I can do the same for nice people here but at half the cost of what transfer companies charge. I hope to recoup the cost of my expensive scanner. Filmmaking and video editing are hobbies of mine.
The scanner is capable of accepting Standard 8mm and Super 8mm movie reels (no sound). It does frame-by-frame digitizing for high-quality digital conversion. It scans and saves the movies as MPEG-4 (MP4) digital movie files at HD resolution.
You'll see in the photo that there are three sizes of film reels: small (50 feet of film), medium (200 feet), and large (400 feet). I charge only $10 for the small size, $30 for medium size, and $60 for the large size. These are the cheapest prices on the planet! Most people have small reels. The reason I can offer cheap prices is because I'm semi-retired and film and video transfer technology is a hobby/passion of mine, and of course I don't have high overhead like a transfer company/office has.
Check online to see how expensive it is to have a transfer company do it. I purchased my own scanner because I had 32 large reels of my father's home movies to scan and it would have cost thousands of dollars at their prices. Most companies charge around 40 cents per foot of film, so a small 50-foot reel would cost you $20. If you want any special editing or enhancements done they will charge much more. They even charge $10 or more just to put your movies onto a thumb drive or SD card! I can save your video files onto a thumb drive(s) or SD card(s) which you provide and which are inexpensive these days.
I love using my scanner to bring people's memories into the digital age, it's a labor of love for me and something I enjoy doing which is why I do it for a low price. My real job consists of being a paralegal for a large downtown law firm.
Your old films are becoming brittle and the colors are fading. Transfer them to digital before the memories are lost forever.
I look forward to chatting with you about your project!
P.S. This discount ends December 20. I only accept projects of $100 or more because I keep all the sensitive/delicate equipment boxed up between projects and it's a bit of a hassle putting everything together when beginning a new project, and I don't bother doing it unless it's worthwhile. Thanks for understanding.
