PolyScience 300 Series Chamber Vacuum Sealer
Polyscience is owned by Breville and sold by its commercial division.
Breville has provided excellent support, as I have a lot of Breville equipment
This unit has basically zero time on it, as it was used at a second home. My daily driver has worked flawlessly for 2 years. This manufacturer is owned by Breville, a large company, and spare parts are available. This is a commercial unit. There is no comparison to a cheap vacuum sealer where the bag is outside. It will marinade and do liquids. It will also vacuum-seal canisters.
This is a maintenance-free dry piston pump, which is very important as you don't have to change or top off the oil with oil-based pumps.
I vacuum-seal pretty much everything we eat and freeze it in portions for our family. When ready to eat, we just Sous Vide it as needed. We buy in bulk, so we have a good inventory of food as needed.
If you are a prepper, this is an absolute necessity!
If you are just frugal, then buy in bulk or cook in bulk and package all the excess for another day
If you are empty nesters, then you know that smaller portions are harder to cook at home. With a vacuum system, you cook larger batches and vacuum-pack them in portions sized to eat for your family and then sous vide them when you need them. The food is as good as just made and lasts a very long time.
Has an External Vacuum Port feature that you don't find on most chamber vacuum sealers. It can be used to draw a vacuum in a wide variety of special containers. FoodSaver makes a number of these containers, including canisters, deli containers, and a jar sealer for Mason jars (see below). FoodSaver says that most foods will stay fresh up to five times longer in these containers under vacuum.
Stuff from the manufacturer:
The 300 Series excels at vacuum sealing both dry foods and liquids such as soups and stews. It operates at the simple push of a button. A built-in marinate cycle broadens your abilities even further. The large 13.8 x 12 x 4.3 in / 35 x 30.5 x 11 cm chamber accommodates expanded pouch sizes. Maintenance-free dry piston pump. Power- 120V. Seal Bar Length- 11.5 inches. Maximum Bag/Roll Width- 12.2 inches
