Phoenix Testing & Inspection LLC is hiring a Construction Operations Manager to take control of daily field operations, reporting flow, and urgent client demands across our materials testing and special inspections divisions.
This is not an administrative role. This is a problem-solving, decision-making position for someone who can step into chaos, take control, and keep projects and people moving.
You will work directly with company leadership, dispatch, field technicians, and clients to ensure work is executed, documented, and delivered without excuses.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage daily field labor and technician deployment in coordination with dispatch
Oversee special inspection results, documentation, and report flow
Ensure reports are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
Handle client communication, including issues, complaints, and urgent requests
Act as primary problem solver for scheduling conflicts, call-outs, and field issues
Step into the field and perform inspections/testing when needed
Support General Manager with operations, staffing decisions, and workflow control
Maintain accountability across field staff—performance, behavior, and output
Manage high-pressure situations without escalation or delay
Requirements:
Special Inspector experience REQUIRED (ICC certifications strongly preferred)
Strong working knowledge of materials testing and construction inspection processes
Proven ability to manage people, conflict, and personalities
Comfortable making decisions and holding employees accountable
Ability to multi-task under pressure and shift priorities quickly
Willingness to be in both office and field environments daily
Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle

Position Details:
Full-time position
Hybrid: Office (Tempe) + Field coverage as needed
40+ hours/week (this is an operations role, not a clock-watching position)
Compensation: Based on experience and certifications
90-day evaluation period
