The Position
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Estimator to handle quoting for machined parts and assemblies. You’ll review prints, understand the requirements, and build realistic, accurate quotes based on how parts are actually made.
If you understand machining, setups, tooling, and what really drives cost, this role will make sense to you.
What You’ll Do
• Review RFQs, prints, models, and specifications
• Estimate material, machining time, setups, tooling, outside processing, inspection, and packaging
• Define assumptions and basic process flow for quoted parts
• Work directly with the shop, engineering, and purchasing to confirm methods and costs
• Communicate with customers when clarification is needed
• Support handoff from quote to production so nothing gets missed
What We’re Looking For
• Experience estimating CNC machined parts (mills and/or lathes; multi-axis a plus)
• Strong blueprint reading skills, including GD&T
• Aerospace/Defense manufacturing experience preferred
• Understanding of quality requirements, documentation, and certifications
• Comfortable with Excel and/or ERP/quoting systems
• Practical, detail-oriented, and able to explain how you arrived at a number
Nice to Have
• AS9100 / ISO experience
• Experience with complex setups, fixtures, or automation
• OEM customer support background
