Offered for sale, my 2004 Squier Standard. This is an excellent guitar that plays and sounds very well. Made in Indonesia, it compares to a current Classic Vibe Squier in its quality level. It is a solidly built instrument with a full-width body that fits Fender hardware, unlike lower-end Squiers, and its current configuration shows that. I have upgraded it with an Oak-Grigsby 5-way switch, full-size potentiometers (either Alpha or CTS, I can't remember) and a Fleor Alnico 5 humbucker. The previous owner had upgraded the original pickups with a set from AllParts, although he couldn't remember the exact name. They sound like more of a vintage style than a hot or modern style pickup.
Was professionally set up last year by Brendan Dezember.
In my video, I tried to showcase the typical Strat sounds--a sweet neck pickup lead, the famous quack in the 2nd position, and some rock chugging on the bridge humbucker (with the help of a RAT pedal). As you can see, the whammy bar works well.
The serial number is IC040527228, but it's not in Fender's database. Research shows it was made at the Indonesia Cor-Tek factory in 2004. This is a highly regarded company that makes import models for PRS, Schecter, Ibanez, and others.
As far as condition, there is a decent ding beneath the bridge that may not show up well in the picture, and personally I don't notice unless I look for it. The back has spiraling from a belt, it seems. Also, notice I don't have the back plate cover (makes it easier to adjust!) or the end of the 5-way switch. These items should be very cheap to replace. Also, there is a screw missing on the front plate.
NOTE: please don't send the "It it still available?" message, those will be ignored. Send an offer if you are interested.
