gather 'round children, uncle nick's gonna tell a story
it was 2016, and I just made a big boy purchase: it was a brand new macbook pro
i was over the moon. it was so neat. so modern. wtf is a touchbar? i love it
one problem: there were four usb-c thunderbolt ports, and that's it (plus a headphone jack, ironically enough)
ya'see: usb-c was damn near brand new. nobody used it. nobody had it. all of our crap was still using the ol' rectangle boi that you always messed up the first time.
unless you bought a hundred gazillion "dongles", you were never gonna be able to use it with your existing io devices
how am i ever gonna use this thing?
in comes DOCKCASE: the golden boy of kickstarter at the time
you plug in ONE (1) type-c cord, and what you get in return:
- wired GbE
- hdmi
- 2x type-c, one 100w PD for charging, one usb 3.1
- 3x type-a, usb 3.0
- big SD
- lil' SD
- a convenient & totally stylish leather carrying case ?????
of course i had to back them
six months later, it arrived
and i never used it, except maybe thrice
now, i offer unto you, a chance to use it
fits up to 15" macbook-sized laptops
