Position Summary:
Cottonwood Palo Verde at Sun Lakes is seeking a skilled and dependable Certified Pool Technician to support the operation of our newly constructed swimming pool as well as the other pools and spas at our HOA. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and inviting pool environment for residents, members, and guests by ensuring proper water chemistry, equipment functionality, and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of commercial pool systems, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service in a country club community environment.
Work Schedule:
Hours: 3:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Work Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Days Off: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pool Operations & Maintenance
* Monitor and maintain proper water chemistry levels, including chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, and cyanuric acid.
* Conduct daily inspections of pool facilities, equipment, decks, pumps, filters, heaters, chemical feeders, and circulation systems.
* Perform routine cleaning of pools, spas, water features, skimmer baskets, gutters, and surrounding areas.
* Backwash filters and maintain filtration systems according to manufacturer and health department standards.
* Identify, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs on pool equipment; coordinate major repairs with outside vendors as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of chemical readings, maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Safety & Compliance
* Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
* Safely store, handle, and inventory pool chemicals according to OSHA and industry standards.
* Respond promptly to water quality concerns, equipment failures, or safety hazards.
* Assist with pool opening, closing, and seasonal maintenance procedures.
* Support emergency response procedures when necessary.
Facility Support
* Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the pools and spas.
* Work collaboratively with pools and spas, and Facilities to ensure an exceptional resident and member experience.
* Provide courteous and professional service to residents, members, guests, and fellow employees.
Qualifications:
Required
* Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification or equivalent certification.
* Minimum of two (2) years of commercial pool maintenance experience.
* Knowledge of pool chemistry, filtration systems, pumps, motors, and automated control systems.
* Ability to safely handle pool chemicals and maintenance equipment.
* Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
* Experience working in a country club, resort, HOA, active adult community, or recreational facility.
* Basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repair experience.
* CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods.
* Comfortable working in varying weather conditions, including Arizona heat.
* Ability to climb ladders and access mechanical equipment rooms.
