We are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Hazardous Materials Technician to join our growing environmental services team. This role is responsible for responding to hazardous material incidents, performing remediation activities, handling hazardous waste, and supporting emergency response operations in a safe and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities:
Respond to hazardous materials incidents, spills, releases, and environmental emergencies.
Perform hazardous waste handling, packaging, labeling, transportation, and disposal activities.
Conduct site assessments and assist with remediation and decontamination projects.
Operate specialized equipment and tools used in environmental cleanup operations.
Follow all OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety procedures.
Complete required documentation, reports, manifests, and field records.
Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and emergency response drills.
Maintain vehicles, equipment, and response gear in a state of readiness.
Work effectively as part of a team in potentially challenging environmental conditions.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous hazardous materials, environmental, industrial services, emergency response, or related experience preferred.
40-Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators.
Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and teamwork.
Employment Requirements
Successful candidates must:
Pass a comprehensive background check.
Pass a pre-employment physical examination and be medically qualified to perform the essential functions of the position.
Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Participate in and successfully pass random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
Maintain eligibility to work on customer sites that may have additional screening or security requirements.
On-Call Requirements:
This position includes a rotating on-call schedule. Technicians must be available to respond to after-hours, weekend, and holiday emergency incidents when assigned on call. Response times and availability requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
