Here we have a chain fusee Skeleton Clock by Smiths of Clerkenwell, England, circa 1870's
The clock is in good running order and comes with a winding key . It has an 8 day chain fusee movement and the original Smith's distinctive pendulum. Also the Smith's trademark hands. The price is $975.00, cash, of course.
Some of the photos show the clock on its original marble base.. The dome was missing so I put the clock in the wood case. The original marble base comes with the clock in case you want to find a dome for it.
The case is approximately 21" tall by 13" wide by 8 1/2"deep.
A page from Royer-Collard "Skeleton Clocks" book shows a picture of the Smith's two-train grape leaf clock which has a similar frame to the one listed here. The book is not included with the clock. It is readily available on the internet.
