Sadly, Ruth Mayer passed away on March 5, 2023, as well as her son Reed Mayer, who managed Ruths Art Gallery, died a year later, on April 13, 2024. Before Reeds death, he verbally appraised Catalina Greeter at $10,200 in 2020, if he had one in his gallery. Both will be missed. Ruth Mayer's artwork will truly be an investment, especially now, and her talent and gift of creating art will not be repeated.
This painting is an absolute work of art. If you have ever been to Catalina Island in California or love the ocean, you would have a true appreciation for such a painting as this. Ruth also did a commissioned painting of the Pope.
