It features a classic beehive or harvest jug shape with a rich, earthy glaze.
The rounded body and narrow neck reflect a traditional 19th-century design.
Stoneware jugs like this one were commonly used for storing liquids such as whiskey or moonshine.
This one recently came out of an old trunk in a barn.
It has NOT been completely cleaned, only rinsed off to remove the accumulated dust.
It still has the old cork in the spout!
