Bean Pots have been around since America was still called "The Colonies." Starting in the 20th century, Bean Pots got more presentable in polite society and were often found on the stove tops of busy households. These Bean Pots were glazed and featured one or two integrated handles and a fitted lid.
This great piece of history spent many of its recent years stored away in a box in a barn.
It has not been cleaned, only wiped down to remove most of the dust.
This is a RARE and beautiful Double-Handle Antique Brown Glaze Stoneware Bean Pot.
Any age, or imperfection, is part of the value. As shown in photo the lid has one small chip.
