According to the previous owner along with the documentation (dating back to 1977) I have, this 'Illinois' car had 2 extensive stints where it remained unused and in storage. In early 1994, the owner (prior to the one I purchased it from) had intended on doing an extensive restoration which he never started. As a part of the restoration, he purchased a complete Jaguar interior and top replacement which were never unwrapped/unboxed. The car then sat in a warehouse for nearly 25 years. The person I purchased the car from also had intended to restore the car, but like the previous owner, never did. I purchased the car in 2021.
The mechanical rebuilds included fully disassembling the engine, transmission and carburetor. All seals, gaskets, bearings, hoses, springs, oil pump, radiator, belts, brake master cylinder, rear brake calipers, (front calipers were rebuilt) brake booster, brake & clutch reservoirs, exhaust manifolds, pistons and more were replaced. All work is fully documented.
The paint and body restoration included completely stripping the car, repairing dents, replacing the body rubber and repainting with base coat/clear coat.
Also included is the original tool kit and owners manuals.
