2014 Ford C-Max. About 126,000 miles. NON-SMOKER. No pets.
At 95,000 miles, the cvt was starting to sound bad. Replaced under warranty at Ford dealership with brand new cvt! So only about 30000 miles on the cvt transmission.
Has several body scrapes and a rear left bumper dent. They don’t affect how it runs, but they don’t look good. But it’s a C-Max. You aren’t buying it for the looks.
The bad: the dash was showing a brake system warning light. Took it to Master Brake. Needed new rotors and pads. Spent $1000 putting them on. New brake fluid put in by them, too. I’ve driven it about 500 miles. Works fine. The bad is intermittently the brake system warning light still comes on. Sometimes the ABS warning light comes on, too. I have no idea if the ABS works because I never drive into a situation where I brake hard enough to activate the system. I’m not going to put more money into investigating it, since the brakes work completely fine and I know they are new.
The good: runs great. Smooth, quiet, not rattly.
Tires have about 10,000 miles on them. So likely 3 years or so before will need new tires.
40 mpg! As you can see in the photos.
Rated 42 city/37 highway.
2.0 liter engine plus the hybrid electric motor. 188 hp. Plenty of acceleration.
A/C works well.
Roomy. Back seats fold down. Hatchback tailgate.
Interior is in really good condition. Clean. No stains. No rips.
2 sets of keys.
Because of the body issues, and the warning light issues, I’ve significantly reduced the asking price from what other 2014 C-Max’s of similar or higher mileage are.
