A started pullet is a fully-feathered female ready to go outside into a coop. These females will eventually lay eggs depending on their breed and maturity type. Pullets have been sexed and I will stand by this if a rare mistake is made.
About me:
I have 20+ years experience raising and caring for chickens and I consider their health and happiness from every angle! That is why we only offer Soy/corn free feed and take every measure to love our chickens through their growth to egg laying. This is more of a passion than a money making endeavor, and raising chickens is hard work. I raise all our chicks as if they were my own, including socializing with our kids and daily treats and love. I really just love chickens and want to help other backyard chickens keepers have quality and variety. Question about chicken breeds I offer? Let me know! I love talking chicken, so ask me anything. Some chickens are more friendly, some lay eggs sooner, some lay more eggs, colored eggs, less eggs but for more years overtime. What are you looking for?
Coming to see us? Know before you go:
Located in Cave Creek near Lone Mountain and Scottsdale roads. Available by appointment only, I will separate specific chickens for you to look at before you arrive.
Health is a big concern with baby chicks and chickens! Do not wear clothing or shoes that could cause cross contamination from your farm / coop.
There is a lot of cactus on our property, watch your step and watch your kids. We are a small private farm, and each individual is responsible for their own safety.
Bring a box (with a lid or flaps that close) or animal crate for pickup. Dog pee pads work great as temporary travel bedding to catch poop.
What to know before you buy?
We feed CORN FREE / SOY FREE organic feed to all our baby chicks and chickens. Chickens are given fresh water daily with appropriate minerals. We go to every length to provide top notch quality care, starting with how we source baby chicks and extending to feed, bedding, environment, and including positive energy and love to all our babies.
I will provide you with the hatch date for each chicken and you can be confident you are getting young healthy hens that will produce lovely eggs for you.
Pullets sell out quickly and date available means they are at least 6 weeks old and feathered enough to be outside without heat. Some feather faster or slower than others, ask for details on specific breeds.
It’s recommended you purchase at least 2 chickens, they get stressed when isolated and so better with a buddy even when integrating into existing flock.
