I have three line trimmers which work but which I can't use. They use 0.065" line which you can re-wind yourself or buy pre-filled spools. They each have a 14" cutting width.
Due to some serious auto accidents I've been in, I have lost almost all the strength in my major hand and can no longer operate the trimmer. I just don't have the hand strength any more to open the line container to add line when it's empty.
I've had the red Homelite one for a few years and it has worked really well. I'm not happy that my hand isn't cooperating so I can continue to use it. It has a brand new roll of string line in it. It has a metal hanger if you want to hang it on a hook on your wall instead of storing it just sitting on the floor.
Someone recently gave me the yellow Paramount one, thinking the problem was the red trimmer, but I can't use it, either. There's a chip at the top (see the photo), but that doesn't affect how it works at all.
I also have a third which someone gave to me, but I can't remember the name. They said it works fine, but they were moving out of the country. It doesn't matter -- the problem is not the Homelite I had; it's that I am unable to open the part to add trim line, and that's the same situation with any line trimmer, for me.
These are used but there's a lot of life left in each of them. I'll sell these for $10 each.
It's faster for us to make arrangements to meet if you let me know what part of the Valley you're in when you respond to this posting.
